DIVINATION IN JEWISH TRADITION with Rabbi Jill Hammer, PhD — Thursdays, April 23, 30, May 14, 28, June 4, and 11, 3-4 pm ET / 12-1 pm PT
How can divination be a tool for spiritual exploration and growth? And what are traditional forms of Jewish divination? In this six-session course, we’ll talk about, and try out for ourselves, Urim and Tumim (priestly divination stones), bibliomancy, oil divination using a mirror or bowl, dream divination, and contemporary tarot divination. We’ll consider the way divination can be a form of prayer, contemplation, or creative engagement that helps us choose our path forward.
This course will be taught via Zoom and can also be accessed via phone. Though live attendance is encouraged, all sessions will be recorded, allowing you to engage with the material even if you’re unable to attend in real time. Cost: $250 + $25 non-refundable registration fee
