BODY AS MAKOM: Jewish Embodiment Across Space, Time, and Soul with Yoshi SilversteinTuesdays, May 26, June 9, 16, and 23, 3-4:15 pm ET / 12-1:15 pm PT

In this four-session course with Yoshi Silverstein, we’ll delve into the Makom (The Place) of the embodied self as a source of form, flow, feeling, and transformation in conjunction with the mystical wisdom of Sefer Yetzirah and other sources of Jewish wisdom and tradition. Sessions will include a blend of text study, discussion, and ample embodied practice — including movement, breathwork, and song.

Session One: Embodied Space — Embodied form, orientation, and movement in physical space.

Session Two: Embodied Time — Rhythm, tempo, pace + cycles of nature in and outside the body.

Session Three: Embodied Soul — Connection to the divine source(s) “above and below.”

Session Four: Embodied Self — Integration with all three realms of space, time, and soul.

Students should dress in comfortable, non-restrictive clothing and set up in a location with some space to move. Open to folks with all backgrounds and experience levels. Most physical and learning accessibility needs can be accommodated with notice.

This series will be taught via Zoom and can also be accessed via phone. Though live attendance is encouraged, all sessions will be recorded, allowing you to engage with the material even if you’re unable to attend in real time.
