Join writer, educator, herbalist and artist Naomi Spector for a five-part introduction to Jewish Herbalism. In this series, we will learn about Jewish rituals, remedies, and teachings relating to plants that were historically common to Jewish kitchens and gardens across the diaspora.

This Course Will Have Five Sessions:
1. Jewish Herbalism — An exploration of Jewish folk tales about plants
2. Herbal Teas — Jewish diaspora as well as Jewish rituals and culture around herbal tea
3. Flowers — Their roles in Jewish tradition and folk medicine
4. Protection — Jewish beliefs about the evil eye, herbs for protection, and folk amulets
5. Garlic — The complex role of garlic in Jewish history, culture, and ritual
Course Details:
This series is designed to be accessible to beginners and experienced herbalists alike.
Sessions will be taught via Zoom and can also be accessed via phone.
While live attendance via Zoom is encouraged, all sessions will be recorded, allowing you to engage with the material even if you’re unable to attend in real time.
