SOULS, INCARNATIONS, AND INCUBATIONS: Life after Death in Jewish Tradition with Rabbi Jill Hammer, PhD — Thursdays, March 5, 19, and 26, 3-4:15 pm ET / 12-1:15 pm PT

Jewish ideas about the soul, and about the soul’s journey before birth and after death, are rich and diverse. In these three sessions with Rabbi Jill Hammer, PhD, we’ll consider biblical views of the underworld, the belief in the soul as an eternal being, the levels of the soul, the idea of resurrection, and the intricacies of reincarnation according to Jewish mysticism. We’ll also learn about Jewish soul entities that interact with humans, including the dybbuk and the ibbur. Finally, we’ll consider implications for how to relate to the soul, the journey through life and death, and our encounters with spirit in our own lives.

This series will be taught via Zoom and can also be accessed via phone. Though live attendance is encouraged, all sessions will be recorded, allowing you to engage with the material even if you’re unable to attend in real time.
